Wildcats Finish Fifth at RRC Championships

The Wildcats toed the line at the Raccoon River Conference Meet on Monday, October 12, and finished fifth. Their individual efforts proved to be exceptional. Winning the meet was 3A No. 1 ranked Ballard with 23 points, Winterset placed second with 91 points, North Polk was third with 92 points, ADM fourth with 94 points, Carlisle fifth with 109 points, Gilbert sixth with 115 points, Bondurant-Farrar was seventh with 210 points, Perry eighth with 241 points, and Boone ninth with 270 points. Paityn Noe of Ballard won the RRC title with an outstanding time of 17:36. Carlisle had one first-team all-conference finisher in junior Ainsley Erzen, who finished third in a time of 18:38. The Wildcats also had one second-team all-conference finisher in sophomore Tessa Erzen, who  finished 18th in 20:48. Marie Dagget finished in 23rd - just one place out of being second team all-conference- with a personal best time of 21:10. This time places her fifth on the all-time best 5K in Carlisle history. Maya Bergstrom finished shortly after Daggett in 25th with a personal best time of 21:12. Maya sits at No. 6 on Carlisle's all-time best 5K list. Carlisle's fifth finisher was Laura Downs. Laura was 40th and ran a personal best time of 22:31. Riley Sievers finished 44th and ran 23:01, and Sage Austin finished in 48th and ran a personal-best time of 23:19. In summary, two RRC all-conference performers and four personal bests- well done, Wildcats!

JV Girls Finish 6th at RRC Meet

The JV girls team finished sixth on Monday night behind JV meet winner North Polk, runner-up Gilbert, third-place finisher Ballard, fourth place finisher Bondurant-Farrar, and fifth place finisher ADM. Ella Andersen broke into the top 10 and placed seventh with a season-best 22:32- earning  herself the No. 6 spot on the varsity team. Hannah McGraw cracked the top 15, placing 12th with a lifetime best time of 23:19. Bri White finished in 27th and ran a 25:04, Katie Keeney placed 37th and ran a 26:48, Bella Pagel was just two seconds shy of a season PR with a time of 27:34- placing 39th. Madelynn McFadden finished out her season with a lifetime best 30:10. That's three personal best times for the JV squad! This meet concludes the 2020 cross country competitive season for much of the JV squad. They can be proud of the growth they have made this year personally, and on the course!
