Carlisle Varsity Girls XC at DCG

The Carlisle High School girls cross country team kicked off its season on Sept. 1 at the Dallas Center-Grimes Invitational. The meet brought 11 teams together to compete on a 5k cross country course. The Carlisle girls placed fourth, trailing winner, DCG (3A), Norwalk (4A), and Indianola (4A). Jr. Ainsley Erzen re-set the meet record and secured a first-place finish in a time of 18:44, breaking her own previous meet record by five seconds. Carlisle's top six runners all crossed the line before the 23 minute mark- a phenomenal start for the Wildcats!

Carlisle JV Girls XC at DCG

The Carlisle High School JV girls cross country team also began their season on Tuesday, September 1st. With a few ladies getting in one more week of training before Grinnell next Tuesday, we ran three girls in the junior varsity lineup. Though five runners are needed to form a team score, these ladies ran hard for a collection of great performances. Great start for this young group!
