The Wildcat varsity boys place 2nd out of 16 teams at the Gilbert Invitational. The team was led by 3 medalists Ezra DeCleene (10th in 16:26), Kael Streeter (12th in 16:31), and Kamden Brown (15th in 16:49). Following close behind were Brody Roth (19th in 16:58), Chase Gach ( 26th in 17:11), Talan Walstrom (34th in 17:25), and Josh Lancaster (37th in 17:27). Rounding out the varsity top 10 were Harrison Eighmy (50th in 17:58), Judah DeCleene (59th in 18:20), and Mattix Benefiel (65th in 18:29).
The JV Boys took home 1st place by edging Gilbert by 1 point! They were led by Conner Hansen (3rd in 18:19), Ben Imhoff (4th in 18:21), Torren Walstrom (6th in 18:47), and Ryan Rushing (14th in 19:12). Rounding out the JV top 7 were Alex Quinn (30th in 19:45), Brandon Birech (32nd in 19:47), and Eli Mezger in 20:16.
School history was made in the varsity race by having 4 runners under 17:00 minutes. 19 of the 26 Wildcats who ran achieved their lifetime best times!
The Cats race again at Ballard on Sept. 11.
